Following on from last year’s success, Ripple Effect is back with eight new, up-and-coming acts that showcase the very best of musical talent in Lancashire.

Hosted right here at The Grand on 27th September, Ripple Effect brings you eight bands and artists from a variety of genres, all in one night. Eight acts, six hours, ten quid – you can’t say fairer than that!

Come and discover your favourite new artist, whether that’s a Sunset Strip-inspired classic rock outfit, dripping in vintage mojo, or a modern folk act with accolades from the likes of Paul McCartney and Janice Long. 

Get a drink, settle in and ready yourself for an evening of incredible independent music.

Acts

The Empire Police
The Empire Police blend rock, jazz, and alternative vibes for a sound that’s all their own. Since 2016, they’ve shared stages with The Sherlocks, The Blinders and more, building a legendary and loyal local fanbase.
Founders of the Rock Am River festival, they’re making waves in Preston and beyond.
Tom Robinson of BBC 6 Music calls them “completely extraordinary” – and we can’t wait for you to hear more from them.


Juice
Making waves with their infectious pop melodies and gritty edge, The Juice have had electrifying tours across major cities and received attention from many industry figures, such as John Kennedy from Radio X.


Pretty Shivers
Pretty Shivers bring a 70s Sunset Strip flair to the Northern rock scene. With a blend of Rock & Roll, Power Pop and Soul, they mix retro vibes with a fresh, modern twist. Their debut singles “Running Away” and “Bonnie & Clyde” are packed with electrifying guitars, lush strings, and soaring vocals.


Callis
Callis blends post-punk vibes with raw intensity, creating a sound that’s impossible to forget. With explosive live shows and a European tour on the horizon, they’re about to take 2025 by storm.


Alexander Hulme
The perfect blend between modern folk & alt pop, Alexander’s songwriting has earned him accolades from huge names such as Sir Paul McCartney & Janice Long.
We’re looking forward to showcasing his truly unique songwriting and creativity – keep your ears peeled.


Harris Rafferty
A singer-songwriter hailing from the North West, Harris blends soulful, authentic lyrics with Britpop and indie rock vibes. After a musical theatre start, he’s shared stages with legends like PP Arnold & up-and-comers like Che Aimee Dorval.


Death Trails
A mighty combo of punk, grunge & ska, Death Trails truly bring the thrill factor to everything they do. These self-proclaimed loud mouths are always ready to bring their A-game to every single beat – and we’re excited for you to hear what they have to say.


Hannah McMillan
Hannah McMillan’s unique sound blends funk, pop, and jazz. From upbeat jams to heartfelt ballads, her songwriting is as versatile as it is captivating.
