Lineup

The current lineup represents a stellar group of musicians and comprises of:

  • DAVE HULL-DENHOLM (1994-present): Vocal, guitars
  • STEVE DAGGETT (1986-present): Vocal, keyboards, guitars
  • IAN THOMSON (1995-present): Bass, vocal

Lindisfarne were at the forefront of the folk-rock movement of the 1970s along with bands such as Fairport Convention and The Albion Band. Their first album Nicely Out Of Tune was released in 1970 and contained songs such as Lady Eleanor and Winter Song, though it didn’t actually chart until 1971, when they released their second album Fog On The Tyne.

Their second album bought them wide acclaim, particularly with the title track. This album also featured the hit Meet Me On The Corner; a song that sounds every bit as good today as it did in 1971 – probably why it earned frontman Rod Clements an Ivor Novello award.

Lindisfarne’s sound combines traditional acoustic instruments – guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, along with those more commonly found in electric blues music – electric guitars and bass, and drums. This merge of traditional and contemporary timbres, along with stunning vocal harmonies gives Lindisfarne a rich and intricate sound that has truly stood the test of time.

We were lucky enough to have Lindisfarne at The Grand in November of 2019 and we’re very excited to be welcoming them back. They really are legends, and having them perform these timeless songs right here in Clitheroe is very special indeed. We also managed to catch up with frontman Rod Clements, and here’s what he had to say:
