ROLE:

Are you passionate about helping people find their musical voice?
Do you believe music should be fun, inclusive, and empowering for everyone—regardless of experience or background?

BeMyBand (BMB) is a flagship community music project held where young musicians come together to jam, learn, create, and perform. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and versatile music tutor to help guide and support our next generation of bands. The project is held within The Grand’s recording studios and rehearsal spaces.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with bands of mixed ability, age, and genre to help them rehearse, collaborate and develop their sound.
  • Encourage creative experimentation and build confidence in a friendly, inclusive environment.
  • Deliver engaging sessions covering a broad spectrum of styles to suit each band.
  • Support seasonal specialist workshops on topics such as stage presence, branding, studio recording, and more.
  • Help prepare groups for live performance opportunities, including our signature Reverb gigs.

Who You Are:

  • A skilled and flexible musician, ideally with experience of working across multiple instruments or bands.
  • A great communicator who can support learners of all levels with patience and positivity.
  • Someone who values inclusivity and diversity in music-making.
  • Confident in working with young people, including those with a variety of needs.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding practices and experienced in applying them in a youth/community setting.
  • Comfortable leading rehearsals, offering creative direction, and motivating groups to bring out their best.
  • An experienced practitioner in youth work, community arts, music education, and group facilitation.

Instruments/Styles:

We welcome all musical backgrounds and encourage applicants who are confident working with guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keys, or less typical instruments such as brass, strings or electronic gear.

Successful applicants will require suitable references from current and previous employers and an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
