MySkillz

It is such a delight to see the confidence of individuals grow over the weeks, culminating in a wonderful performance enjoyed by all
– Emma Gardiner

MySkillz involves children from different schools working together to produce a showcase performance which is presented to family, friends and school staff on The Grand’s stage.

“Watching our pupils engage with such enthusiasm and energy was a genuine highlight. What struck me most was the visible growth in their confidence throughout the programme. The positive impact has been wonderfully evident. The opportunity you’ve provided has been transformative. Our pupils have: developed new skills, increased their self-belief, experienced a supportive and engaging learning environment. We are immensely grateful for your commitment to supporting young people’s development and for offering us the opportunity to take part.”
– Headteacher, St. Wulstan’s, Great Harwood

The project provides an amazing opportunity for children to actively learn about the performing arts industry and to develop their artistic abilities with training from professional singing tutor Ella Shaw (Ella Shaw’s Academy of Arts). Pupils will also experience workshops with members of The Grand team to learn more about the recording studio and the different areas involved in planning and delivering a showcase. Throughout the project they will have the opportunity to develop teamwork skills and grow their confidence and self-esteem.

Ella Shaw will be teaching singing and movement and preparing the children for a showcase performance, while staff from The Grand will work with the children to plan and prepare the showcase itself giving them the opportunity to develop a wider range of skills involved in the arts such as script writing, public speaking, recording spoken word introductions and helping with the videography.

MySkillz provides a chance for participants to be part of something truly unique!
