THE REAL THING with ORIGINAL VOCALISTS CHRIS AMOO & DAVE SMITH are on tour promoting their first new album of original material in 44 years ‘ A BRAND NEW DAY ‘ No 3 in Amazon best sellers.

They also have their new soulful single ‘HANG ON NEVER LET GO’ this track will be special for all the lovers who grew up listening to their classic hits.

On the reverse of this single is a live version of their classic composition ‘CHILDREN OF THE GHETTO’ which has been covered by the likes of Courtney Pine, Paul Hardcastle, Mart J Bligh & Philip Bailey. This is the first time that a recording of this track has been made featuring lead vocals by Chris Amoo.

THE REAL THING enjoyed success in both the 70’s & 80’s with 3 Top 10 singles. The No 1 Hit ‘YOU TO ME ARE EVERYTHING’ ‘CANT GET BY WITHOUT YOU’ & ‘CAN YOU FEEL THE FORCE ‘ and all these tracks are still featured daily on all the major UK Radio stations. They also have around one million plays or more on Spotify each month.

They also had a hit movie ‘EVERYTHING’ which played nationally in cinemas & was also aired on TV BBC Chanel 4 in August 2020. This was followed by their Greatest Hits Album which made the official National Album charts and reached No 2 in the Amazon download charts.

THE REAL THING are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.

Support for The Real Thing comes from RICHIE SAMPSON. He performs classic pop & soul hits from numerous artists including The Drifters, Four Tops & Temptations.

Richie has performed alongside former long standing members of The Drifters, such as Ray Lewis, Billy Lewis, Butch Leak and Roy Hemming’s at various times. The band breathes new life in to the classic Drifters hits such as ‘Under the Boardwalk’, ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’, ‘Up On The Roof, Kissing In The Back Row of The Movies’.

The group also pay tribute to the great original members such as Ben E King and his solo hits Spanish Harlem & Stand By Me, Clyde McPhatter, and Johnny Moore who’s music will always be remembered.
