Saturday 17 May 2025Join us on the 17th May for a spectacular night of live music, drinks and dancing as we raise funds for The Cancer Bank.
Adorning the lineup are four great acts, all of whom are doing some truly impressive things within the local music scene and the wider industry:

Jacob Reddy – Indie Pop
Vinny Peculiar – Indie/Alternative
Common Hall – Folk
As well as these live sets, there will also be some fantastic prizes up for grabs that you can get your hands on in our auction. These have been kindly donated by businesses far and wide and mean that we can raise even more money for such a fantastic cause.
The Cancer Bank was founded by Dan Theobalds, an inspirational former Head Teacher from Lower Darwen, to support individuals undergoing treatment for Cancer. After being diagnosed with bowel cancer, Dan used his own experience with to create essential care packages that provide comfort and support to others undergoing such things as chemotherapy on their cancer journey. The organisation also provides Health and Wellbeing activities for free as well as health guidance.
From intimate folk songs to indie rock anthems, the four billed acts offer something for all music-lovers, plus you can get involved with helping people in need.

The Illicits
The Illicits are a 4 piece Indie Rock band from Blackburn, Lancashire that packs a punch with illusions toward the Manchester bands gone by. From infectious guitar and bass riffs to hard hitting drums and thoughtful vocals, The Illicits are an up-and-coming Northern band that you truly do not want to ignore.
Jacob Reddy
Successfully bordering the lines of both captivating & dynamic stage performances with gritty, passionate, melody-driven tunes, Jacob Reddy provides something unique & memorable for the indie rock scene. From acclaimed solo shows at the likes of Glastonbury to the present day, where he performs his Grit Pop anthems on tour with his full band, Jacob always aims to provide a fun-filled, energy-fuelled party where everyone is invited!

Vinny Peculiar
Vinny Peculiar [aka Alan Wilkes] grew up in Worcestershire and trained as a nurse before signing to Manchester cult label Ugly Man records [former home to Elbow]. He’s since put out thirteen albums of literate autobiographical pop music over a twenty-year career and has regularly toured band, solo and duo shows.
Variously described as – ‘an under sung national treasure’ [UNCUT] – ‘a warm-hearted Morrissey’ [Q Magazine] and ‘the missing link between Jarvis Cocker and Roger McGough’ [Irish Times] previous work associations include Bill Drummond [KLF], Luke Haines [the Auteurs], Jah Wobble [PIL] and his various bands have included ex members of The Smiths, OASIS, Aztec Camera & The Fall. He’s also written and recorded as Parlour Flames, the band he formed in 2013 with ex OASIS rhythm guitarist Bonehead.
Common Hall
Common Hall (aka Robert Williams) – originally from Clitheroe, Lancashire – Robert is an award-winning, acclaimed author and, in this case, a gifted singer-songwriter nudged out of self-imposed performing retirement. His songs have been played on Radio 2 and Radio 6.
Expect songs of spite, songs that bite, songs that confront and console.
