We are excited to try out a brand-new layout in our auditorium – In The Round. Think Sofar Sounds meets Tiny Desk…
The artist will perform in the middle of the auditorium floor, with the audience seated around them in a circle. We’re currently searching for artists to help us trial this new setup. We have tested and sound checked it but there’s only so much we can do without a real audience, so that’s where you come in!
We’re looking to put on a free event next February but we need artists to play. We’re not looking for any particular genre or style, but because of the layout, we are limited by volume. We’ll struggle to host full bands playing at full velocity without running the risk of feedback. As such, we’re thinking singer-songwriters, stripped-down bands (bring your brushes, drummers!), acoustic artists or electronic musicians.
We want the event to be free for all to attend so we aren’t able to offer any payment for this gig. However, we want to be able to provide more than just ‘exposure’. All artists performing will receive professional photographs, one fully filmed and recorded song and a reel-format video cutdown of their performance.
