Salary:
£13.50 – £14.50 p/hour (depending on experience)

ABOUT THE GRAND:

The Grand at Clitheroe is a unique multimedia, live music and arts venue. Providing a creative and inspirational experience through holistic engagement of the arts. Committed to the social, spiritual, cultural, educational and emotional development needs of young people and the broader community.

The Grand Venue and our offices are located in the centre of Clitheroe. The venue comprises a large auditorium (capacity: 400), cafe bar area, professional recording studios and rehearsal rooms.

We engage our community through an eclectic programme of live events, regular creative classes, creative learning projects and outreach initiatives alongside other providers within the local community, including schools, churches and other various arts organisations.

ROLE:

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for live music, creative arts, and events management. As an Event Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of events, providing leadership and oversight on the day of each event.

You will be responsible for delivering high quality events by managing logistics, coordinating teams, and responding to any issues that arise at an event. The role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to event management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Leadership: Act as the main point of contact for all stakeholders on event days, ensuring that the event runs smoothly and according to plan.
  • Team Coordination: Brief the operations team during events, including bar staff, security, technical team, and volunteers, ensuring they are fully informed about the event plan.
  • Venue Preparation: Ensure the venue is set up according to the event plan, including any tables, chairs and health & safety measures.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Monitor safety procedures, ensuring adherence to venue policies and legal regulations, and handling emergency situations if necessary.
  • Customer Experience: Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest enquiries and resolving any issues to enhance audience satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving: Handle unexpected challenges swiftly and efficiently to maintain the quality and success of each event.
  • Post-Event Reporting: Provide feedback on event performance, noting any operational improvements for future events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in event management, hospitality, or venue operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle last-minute changes effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of health & safety procedures in an events environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as required by the event schedule.
  • Basic Disclosure Barring System (DBS) Check
