Local Schools Unite through talent at this year’s GRAB event!
Young people from four local schools unite for the Ribble Valley’s flagship talent competition where students showcase their talent both on and off the stage. The Grand partners with four local high schools (Ribblesdale High School, Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, Bowland High School and St Augustine’s RC High School) to create the ‘Britain’s Got Talent style’ competition where acts perform to win the vote of the audience and the judges.
GRAB is all about Supporting Talent, Supporting Community and Supporting Charity. Pupils from across the four schools come together to make the GRAB Forum Team to organise the three events which comprises of two semi-finals and the final. Pupils gain a unique experience as they work alongside industry professionals in marketing, technical operations, and hosting from the stage to create this magical competition. It is a great opportunity for them to make new friends, have fun and learn new skills. Participants of the competition have the fantastic opportunity of performing on The Grand’s stage, accompanied by lights, smoke and special effects created by the technical team.
The event raises awareness and money for a local, national, and international charity chosen by the young people themselves. This year’s charities are Clitheroe Ukrainian Support Project, Surfers Against Sewage and The Solomon Project.
The GRAB project has been running for 13 years and we are excited to be back again after a break during the pandemic. Some of our former well-known finalists include Gracie Davies, Ella Shaw, Karen Wilkinson and Jasper Cherry. Come along to discover fresh local talent, support our young people who have worked so hard to plan, prepare and perform at the event, and to support three fantastic charities.
