No surprise that Mike Smith and Ginger Tunes Quartet return to Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues on Friday 12th July after only seven month and appearing at our new venue, Clitheroe Rugby Football Club, Lit-tlemoor Road, Clitheroe, BB7 1EW
Mike, a saxophonist, says he is ‘musically promiscuous’ and you guessed it, Ginger!
Mike has been working with some of the worlds biggest artists, including Elkie Brooks, ABC, Heather Small, Sam Brown, Tavares, Sandi Thom, Ian Paice, The Muffin Men, Craig David and Kid Creole as a sideman over the past decade.
Ginger Tunes is Mike’s own project, formed in 2010 and calling upon his experiences as a touring mu-sician, culminating in a bonfire of sounds and smells for everyone to enjoy. The band has four albums out, and is a regular at jazz clubs & festivals across the country. Will be a hot at RVJ&B’s July gig!
