As we embark on the process of reconnecting audiences and artists again, The Grand is thrilled to be linking up with the producers of Cloudspotting Music and Arts for a very special outdoor event of arts activities and live music, celebrating the summer solstice.
Taking place over a 24-hour period from June 19th to June 20th - 'A Midsummer Night’s Drum' will be a warm-up for the full blown Cloudspotting Music and Arts Festival's 10th Birthday (July 23rd-25th).
A Midsummer Night's Drum will feature:
A Sky-ku poetry workshop - enjoy drama and creative games with Louise the Poet to make a huge cardboard stacking poetry installation. Workshop includes messing about with paint, talking and shouting out and working as a family to create haiku-boxes about the sky, green things and fun things.
A Drumming Circle workshop - join Whippy for a drum and percussion workshop appropriate for family participation, learning and playing harmonious samba and tribal rhythms.
An open songwriting workshop led by experienced artists and music tutors Rose Greenwood and Baxter Rhodes. Bring your instruments or your voices and share some inspiration, as we create a song that reflects our first outdoor jam for many a day, in the magical surroundings of Gisburn Forest.
Bushcraft making session with Outdoors4All, Campfire and Conversation session and marshmallow toasting with Anna, Steve and the team.
Our afternoon activity workshops will be followed by music in the evening from Cloudspotting favourites Harp and a Monkey plus very special guests and a late night campfire.BOOK
