Follow A Break in The Clouds – Weekend Camping

The award-winning Cloudspotting Music and Arts Festival returns with a special Summer Solstice celebration next month (on the weekend of June 22-23rd).

‘A Break in the Clouds’ is a mini-festival including two nights camping wrapped around one jam-packed day of live music and interactive arts at the Gisburn Forest hub – with a few extra surprises thrown in for the campers on Friday night.

A live music programme with two alternating stages in the Forest features some of the UK’s most exciting independent acts of the minute, including The Lovely Eggs, Sweet Baboo, Mr Ben and the Bens and Jim Ghedi.  Manchester’s global fusionists Kabantu and the Ribble Valley’s exciting new outfit Northern Sports Club all perform on the main stage.  The Enchanted Forest stage will play host to a number of regional acoustic performers including Baxter Rhodes, Terry Logan and Chris Manley and there will be an open mic for attendees and late-night singing sessions round the fire.

Cloudspotting events welcome family audiences and the centrepiece to ‘A Break in the Clouds’ will be an interactive family theatre ‘game’ – called ‘The Sorrowful Stag’ - which all attendees can be involved with.  This mass participation performance combines street theatre with an adventure game for families in the forest, encouraging participants to work instinctively, together and creatively.

There will also be forest arts and craft sessions, walking and activity trails, music workshops and storytelling session for younger visitors.  Yoga – and Laughter Yoga – sessions will also be held to make the most of the tranquillity and oneness of the forest environment.

As ever, Cloudspotting’s award-winning food traders and excellent real ale and cider providers – Q-ale – will be there with their fabulous food and drink and friendly faces.

Camping is available on Friday and Saturday night and a bus service will be running from Clitheroe to the site for those who want to visit just for the day.

A range of pre-erected bell tents / and some dormitory rooms at the Stephen Park Centre are also available.

*Tickets for ‘A Break in the Clouds’ are £30 for adults / £15 Teens / £10 2-12s; Tickets including camping are £50 adults / £25 Teens / £20 2-12s.  A small fee will also be charged for parking.  Tickets are available from the Grand Venue Box Office, Clitheroe (01200 421599, www.thegrandvenue.co.uk)
