This festival seminar focuses on the potential development of careers in jazz for young musicians.It features two high profile young bands, Jam Experiment - the festival’s Band-in-Residence, and the Alexandra Ridout Quintet. Both bands include talented young musicians, and two winners of the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Award - Alexander Bone (2014), and Alexandra Ridout (2016). The seminar will be a relaxed and informal affair at The Grand, where there may be one or two tunes, and band members may talk about their choice of instrument, and talk briefly about their development as a young musicians, commenting on challenges faced, high points, and career aspirations, before being open to a few questions and answers from a discerning audience!
The seminar will be of special interest to young people and aspiring musicians, but not exclusively. Jazz fans of any age will be enthralled to find out more about these young musicians and their achievements.
