The Dylan Project
The Dylan Project
Far more than a tribute act, The Dylan Project has been presenting its own loving interpretation of Bob Dylan's music for nearly 20 years.
Fronted by the iconic Steve Gibbons on vocals and guitar, the band features four of Britain's most talented folk-rock musicians – Fairport Convention’s rhythm section of Dave Pegg (bass) and Gerry Conway (drums) with Phil Bond (keyboards) and PJ Wright (pedal steel and guitars).
The band’s core repertoire spans the whole of Dylan's work from the earliest days right up to the most recent releases. However, 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the seminal Dylan double LP Blonde on Blonde, widely regarded as a masterpiece.
To celebrate this milestone, The Dylan Project's new live show will feature every track from Blonde on Blonde in album order.
The 14 classic songs in the set include I Want You, Stuck Inside of Mobile, Just Like a Woman and the lovelorn epic Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands, all interpreted with flair and originality by The Dylan Project.
The Grand is delighted to welcome these wonderful musicians to the venue for the first time. This event is run in association with Rock Artist Management.
“If the restlessly touring Dylan were not his own tribute band, this group could fill the post”
(Alan Franks, The Times)
